Environmental EthicsThe environmental movement has led to an increased awareness among people that they have a responsibility to use their knowledge and skills to help protect the environmental. It helps to provide the ethical roots of the environmental movement and to understand the responsibility of the environmental. The western ethical tradition is anthropocentric which gives important of plants and animals to humans. This is often evident even within the environmental movement when plants are protected based on their potential for providing new medicines. In cost-oblivious approach, cost is not taken into account but rather the environment is made as clean as possible. This approach bears a striking resemblance to rights and duty ethics. The next approach is cost-benefit analysis which derived from utilitarianism. So we can analyze the problems in terms of the benefits derived by reducing the pollution. In this approach, the goal is not to achieve a completely clean environment and to determine the optimum combination.
